Pictured is Tracy Barbour, a NYC based coach and writer.

I am a military veteran who has experienced the transition from a life in the service to the civilian life and workforce. I have clinical psychology education and an 8-year career in agencies, non-profits, colleges, high schools, and major corporations career coaching, life-skills teaching, and peer mentoring. My experience is vast, from being a corporate trainer, creating behavior-based relationship-building programs to teaching at-risk high school youth to guide senior college students to advising community colleges on a curriculum to being a project manager for a global private equity firm executing messaging, marketing, and growth. My clients and employers included Robert Half, Conde’ Nast, Google, Citibank, and Facebook. I spent almost a decade of building and developing individuals and teams as well as improving processes in human capital and employee relations.

Clients who come to me for coaching feel stuck. They often are walking around inside their own heads, unable to move forward in their lives or careers. They may have developed habits or have behaviors that are a reflection of the chaos swirling around them or even the toxicity they have grown accustomed to.

Coaching sessions are about transformation. We start by accessing where you are now. We take an inventory of your attitudes and behaviors towards self and daily living. We explore your passions, your hobbies, and your purpose. Next we discover where you want to be, what your ideal life would look like. Finally, we answer the question of what is standing in your way and break down those roadblocks.

I am your guide and a mentor. I use creative tools including storytelling, visualization, and hands on projects to keep you energized, holistic tools such as meditation and rituals to help you stay present, and practical strategies to for goal setting and accountability. Evidence based and solution focused, I help you write a new self story about joy and harmony in your life, career, and business.

Change isn’t easy, but I am here to support you along the way. I come to you with an open heart and open mind. I will walk beside you, support you, and cheer you on. I am not a therapist. Although therapy is a wonderful and may be used alongside coaching, therapy is about the past. We focus on the present, where you want to be, and what is getting in your way.

I am honored you have chosen to reach out to me for help. Helping you is my reason for being and what makes me want to get up in the morning. That is why for all prospective clients I offer a complimentary 30 minute call where you can ask questions. Together we will explore if coaching is the right fit for you.
